I am an artist-printmaker. My work is a reflection of who we are, or think we are. I tend to incorporate dark humor with solemnity to make the “ordinary” seem not so ordinary. I believe that juxtaposed elements make a strong impact upon the viewer. The use of unusual elements requires the audience to think about what they see. This process uncovers what familiarity has concealed, giving the image an entirely new character, one that does not reiterate the obvious or supply all of the answers.

The size, function, and subtleties of my art are used to establish a close relationship with the viewer. small prints draw the viewer closer, separating him or her from the crowd around them. Textiles, gadgets, and other products are common objects that we don’t think too much about, but feel compelled to touch or handle. I turn these items into new metaphors representing our individual peculiarities, playing on them as constructive tools to reflect.

My work exists as the print as the original and not as a reproduction. All of the work that I create is handmade in my studio and are original works of art. My work consists of print –both flat and dimensional, bookforms, and functional object art.
